Jill Janecke, MS, LPC-MH
Growing up, I lived on rural farm in Minnesota where we raised livestock and grew grain. I graduated from South Dakota State University in 2005 with a Masters of Science in Counseling. Since then, I have been working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and familes impacted by divorce. My theory approach is solution focused, client centered, family systems, energy psychology, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I have had a private practice since April 2009. I have helped several persons through depression, bullying issues, suicidal ideation, anxiety, grief issues, anger management, mood disorders, children experiencing loss due to divorced parents or loss of a parent, adjustments to life stresses, adults with childhood trauma and more.
My passion has been working with people to overcome the injuries and hardships of their life experiences. Through identifying those experiences and examining which assumptions and automatic thoughts have been created, we learn how it impacts your current life decisions and behaviors. At times, I will lead clients to reconnect with their inner child or re-parent that child within to heal old wounds.
In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy hunting, reading, fishing, and relaxing with my husband and children. I moved to the beautiful Pierre area in December 2012 and have been very excited to be a part of such a welcoming community.
